Her quiet remarks slipped right past him. Normally with his selective hearing he would be able to pick out his name indicating he was meant to tune in but the only neon OPEN sign in the window of a store had his attention now. He opened the door, waiting for Pepper to enter before stepping in himself. "Daryl?" The bell chimed but no salesman or clerk responded. "It looks like we're going to have to help ourselves."
He walked past the first section of models with a slight, if any second glances. "Ugly color, that design wouldn't work at all, wouldn't hold as many people as I hoped," shooting down those were easy. As they reached the other end of the store he finally came to a halt to actually survey the models. His attention was caught by a complex model with additions (http://crave.cnet.com/i/bto/20070918/spa_325x257.jpg) and a plain alternative (http://www.kellisells.com/listman/listings/images/7_2.jpg) among a few other options. He leaned on the edge of a "lesser" option, fiddling with the buttons and letting his fingers dangle in to test the water while continuing to look his options over. "Okay. We'll say you were making the call...I need a vote of practicality, here." A pause. Who was he kidding? "You know what, no practicality. Whatever would impress you more. Which would you pick?"
