There were calls to his office. To his factory.

Nothing.

She had shown at neither.

Tony was shocked.

Eventually, he actually called the police, which was humiliating. There was no missing person report.

It turned out there was a Virginia Potts registered as being in surgery for appendicitis.

"It did make sense that she would only be missing if she were ill, sir."
