When somebody actually caught on fire, it wasn't Tony at all. When somebody actually caught on fire, Dummy wasn't there to dust her.

It must have been something acrylic in her clothes, because brief as the burning was, they almost melted away from her before he managed to completely put the flames out.

"Singed, a bit?"

Pepper actually choked a laugh at that and looked at him gratefully - that is, until she saw the way he was looking at her, which made her realize she was in nothing but underwear and high heels.

"Enough of that!"

"No. Not enough."

Hiccup.

Xaxayayana's wings quivered. It was a real impossibility - seeing Pepper Potts, her Other Daddy's Pepper, drunk so heavily she couldn't stand. The perfect lower lip wibbled.

"What am I to do?!"

Hiccup.

"Oh, sweet goddess, I'd better put you to bed, hadn't I?"

"Mmrghff."

And so it was. The most-beautiful-in-the-world daughter got to put Daddy's currently-not-so-perfect-personal-assistant to her bed, because the latter was utterly helpless and incapable of doing that on her own.

Tony Stark would probably have a heart attack, if he learned. Oh wait. That's not a good idea then. Is it.

Ill!Pepper

Silence.

"Pepper!"

"Miss Potts has not been registered as showing up at the house, sir."

"Now that's not like her. And I need her."

Out came the mobile... and it wasn't answered either.

There were calls to his office. To his factory.

Nothing.

She had shown at neither.

Tony was shocked.

Eventually, he actually called the police, which was humiliating. There was no missing person report.

It turned out there was a Virginia Potts registered as being in surgery for appendicitis.

"It did make sense that she would only be missing if she were ill, sir."

"Thank you, JARVIS."

*giggles* Try as I might, I just couldn't see him being 'kindly solicitous' to her 'languishing' at work (see hwo wrong that picture is?) and I was sure if she was unwell and he was less than nice, he was going to be angry (at himself, or at me as writer later) - so I ... heh. Decided to kind of keep them away from each other ;)

Pepper's faint smile was getting definitely smirk-like, he decided. It was slightly unnerving, actually; it meant in what was coming, he was missing something, and that was always - disquieting.

She was running him through the meeting agenda and he was nodding appropriately around her straightening his tie, cuffs, etc. And then the grin actually broke through and she teased.

"That was the proposed agenda. Think you got it all?"

"Yes, I did."

"Now, since probability that you'll stick to it is demonstrably low: any chance of you telling me beforehand what the actual agenda of this meeting will be?"

Playful!Pepper 2/2 (double drabble)

Tonight, there was a reason to celebrate, a breakthrough in one of the departments working on the brand-new Repulsor technology. He'd talked her into staying after finishing work, for a drink. Yes, there would be a party at the factory. But this was Tony Stark who could charm anybody into anything - including his PA into relaxing a little from the professional pose.

He had to appreciate it, how she handled whatever his erratic lifestyle threw at her. But tonight was time for relaxing. Besides, he was coming out of a phase when he lived in the workshop and breathed his work, and she enjoyed this cusp of sociability before he slipped into the wild partying.

She'd even allowed him to choose her drink - stronger than she'd usually have.

Then he did it again, saying something outrageous to make her react. After a brief moment of her mouth hanging open, one of the cushions from the sofa went flying in the direction of his head. This should teach him to provoke people who weren't feeling bound to be absolutely proper.

And he threw a cushion back, laughing.

Well, the evening was certainly sociable. In an eight-years-old kind of way.

Obadiah Stane was getting frustrated.

Tony Stark had chosen his assistant too well, and with him still missing and not presumed dead, she was absolutely effective in looking after the boy's interests. Blocking Obadiah... everybody out from any move he could currently make towards taking over the company.

He tried to dig into her younger, modeling days to find something to compromise her. However, she seemed to have been too clever back then already - for all the nice dreams looking at all those pictures gave him, dreams were the only place he did ever get to see Pepper naked.
