"A car is waiting for you outside. The driver will take you wherever you may wish to go." ~~As if Mr. Stark cares enough to have arranged that particularly for you.~~

"He meant to have breakfast with you but urgent engagements called him elsewhere." ~~At six a.m. Neither of us believes this one, I suppose.~~

"If that will make any difference, you're not the only one I see out this way." ~~Which is worse, the implication that maybe there are some that I don't, or the knowledge of certainty that you're merely one of many for him?~~

Sometimes, it doesn't make that much difference to me. If the lady - or ladies - of the hour choose to snap at me, that actually makes it easier. But every single lie that I've had to tell the various selections through the years? There are no good things to tell them, I don't think.

With the stuff (and coffee) for the morning down in the workshop, a smallish package for Tony: From Pepper. (Yes, he's free to fiddle with it, but she thought he might even use it too instead of scramble for chargers when he's away and she's not around.)
